Chemist Warehouse (Online Retailer)

I have always been a devotee of the Chemist Warehouse stores. Not pretty places but they have anything I need from prescription medication, OTC medication, vitamins and supplements, beauty and cosmetic products, perfumes and cleaning products, sex toys, travel products, and all at very good pricesMy sort of heaven.

Although I have been buying from Chemist Warehouse for years, lately I am ordering online, and I am very happy with their online shop.

CW's online shop is large and well structured, with a huge variety of products available. Everything is sold at the same price you get it from a real store. The search tool is great not just to looup up products you already know, but to search for types of medication or active ingredients. For example, you can look up Vitamin C, or Clotrimazole or anti-histamines or Murine. You also have the latest catalogue online, so you can order those super-discounted products online as well. The description of some products in their individual page could be more detailed, but this varies from product to product, and overall it is a very good online shop.

They deliver to Australia and overseas, and you get free domestic delivery if you expend over +100, which is easy if you buy bulk. Otherwise, their shipping fees are reasonable. You can include prescriptions in your order; of course, you have to provide exact details of the prescription before they put the medication in your parcel. Yet, it is worth ordering, as their prices for prescription are way cheaper than elsewhere.

You have to register to order. Once you pay, a confirmation email is sent to you. Once your parcel is dispatched, you receive another email with the tracking link. You can pay with credit card, Bpay or Paypal.

Dispatch has always been reasonably fast, like a couple of days and they use Australia Post. The delivery has also been as per estimated periods and the parcels brought to my door properly packed, so bottles with liquid are all sealed in individual plastic bags, and items with glass containers are properly wrapped.

This is e-pharmacy at its best.

Beaufort St 24hr Chemist (Mount Lawley WA, Australia)

    647 Beaufort St
    Mt Lawley WA 6050
    Mount Lawley
    Phone (08) 9328 7775
    Website

This is an icon of Beaufort Street. It has been in that spot for years, since I moved to Perth and Mount Lawley many years ago.

The shop is small and a bit crowded, but the space has been well taken advantage of, and you can buy most things you would want from a chemist, beyond prescription medication: organic body-care and cosmetics, perfumes, basic emergency kit items, condoms, over the counter basics, spectacles stuff (very convenient for spectacled people :))) cute little thingies that you might be tempted to get but you don't need...

The staff will let you browse around, if you tell them that is what your want, or  give you personalised attention. I have found this to be the case every time I have visited, no matter what I wanted was proper medication, over the counter medication or just hygiene or cosmetic products.

The major downside of the place are the prices, higher than in other chemist around for the same stuff. However, this is a 24/7 and we have to pay for the convenience of having them awake and open when we need them. Amen.

The Chemist Warehouse (North Perth, WA)

 412 Fitzgerald St
North Perth Western Australia 6006

http://www.chemistwarehouse.com.au/

The Chemist Warehouse in North Perth has, a huge selection of prescription and over the counter medication, beauty and health products cosmetics and perfumes at bargain prices.

They have some of the best prices for prescription medication and generics in Perth metropolitan area, especially useful when you have many repetitions of a drug or have a long recovery. The guys behind the pharmacy's counter are very knowledgeable and caring, and will inform you -sometimes better than your doctor- on the medication you are taking. The down side is that it takes them ages to deliver the medication, from 10-15 minutes. They have one of those beeper calling devices that give to you, so you can move around the store, but you will need of patience if you go at peak times during weekdays and especially during the weekends.

The Chemist Warehouse is also a heaven for natural remedies (the usual and unusual) and beauty products, basic and medium-range cosmetic brands and perfumes. The perfume section does offer more than the celebrity scents, and they do have first-brands items at very reduced prices: Nina Ricci, Versace, Anna Sui, Lancôme, Jean Paul Gaultier, Dior, Cacharel, Giorgio Armani, Arpège, etc. You won't find the latest launched perfumes by these houses, but their classics; the good perfume brands change from time to time, though, and they don't always have testers. Still, you will find some classic favourites at a fraction of the price you pay elsewhere. Sometimes you can have a WOW moment, at finding Lancôme mascaras or Ives-St-Laurent's Touch Eclat at half price.

The place is not glamorous at all, and it wouldn't help if they revamped it a bit. However, customers don't go there to express their inner posh, but to get a huge range of products, some of them "poshies", at cheap or bargain prices.

They  have a good service, with most girls being very helpful and friendly to the customer both in the aisles and at the cashiers.

They are open every single day of the week.

TIP
Buy products clearly discounted or on-offer products. Otherwise, you will pay the same price or more than you pay at the Coles or pharmacy across the street.
